North Port Orchestra

North Port Orchestra was founded in 1983 by a handful of local residents who were interested in playing music for their own pleasure as well as for the community. St. Paul's Presbyterian Church served as the Orchestra's home until November 2001 when we moved to the Music Suite adjacent to the Performing Arts Center on the North Port High School Campus. The Orchestra is composed of amateur and professional musicians.  Programs include classical, contemporary and popular music. The goal of North Port Orchestra is to promote charitable and educational activities in North Port, Florida. North Port Orchestra is happy to celebrate our 26th year with our audience and friends and look forward to a wonderful 2009-2010 Series.  We hope you enjoy performances featuring talented artists along with great music of all kinds in our five-concert season.   

Maestro

Sasha von Dassow, Music Director of the North Port Orchestra. He is also a member of the cello section of The Florida Orchestra, on the faculty at Manatee Community College as the Director of Orchestra, and is an active chamber musician and teacher throughout the greater Tampa Bay/Southwest Florida region.
